Care Instructions
Hardwood & Rubberwood timber products are finished with a premium furniture lacquer. Cleaning should only be carried out using lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
If absolutely necessary, a diluted mild detergent will not harm the surface, but any residue must be wiped off.
Excess water may cause surface deterioration if applied regularly. The timber surface is heat and alcohol resistant only.
Wood Veneer products – Wood Veneer is a thin sheet of natural wood that covers the surface of some types of furniture providing the look of hardwood furniture.
The durability of wood varies depending on the type of wood it’s made from, and it requires gentle care to preserve the finish. Clean it with mild products and avoid the use of wax or oil-based polishes to prevent build up. Keep wood veneer furniture out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and use beverage coasters to prevent water damage.
1. Use a damp cotton or microfibre cloth with water and wring it out. Wipe the wood veneer, following the direction of the wood grain, to remove any light dust, debris or residue. Wipe the veneer with a dry cotton or microfibre cloth to dry it.
2. Remove tough dirt or residue from wood veneer with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of oil soap or mild soap flakes with 2 cups of warm water. Dip a cotton or microfibre cloth into the solution and wring it out. Wipe the wood veneer in small sections to clean it thoroughly.
3. Rinse the cloth thoroughly with water and wring it out. Wipe the wood veneer with the cloth to remove any soap residue. Dry the wood veneer with a clean, dry cloth.
Tip: Dust wood veneer regularly with a dry, soft cloth to keep it looking its best.
Warning: Don’t use oil or ammonia-based products on wood veneer as they can damage the surface or create a cloudy finish.
For ALL timber products (Hardwood & Veneer) – do not place any hot items directly on the surface.
All spills should be removed as soon as possible.
Please do not use any alcohol, spirit or silicone-based cleaning products as these will cause surface deterioration. Nail polish or nail polish remover will destroy the timber surface. Take care when placing unglazed ceramics as they may scratch the surface. Do not leave your furniture in direct sunlight for extended periods as the timber may split or warp and the polish may crack or discolour. Coasters and mats may leave a ‘shadow’ if left in one position for lengthy periods. Do not place furniture in the direct path of air conditioners or close to heaters.
A little common sense and maintenance will ensure you have many years of service from your chosen product.
Fabric & PU Care
Regular Care: Protect from direct sunlight, direct heat & weather. Regularly dust with a clean dry cloth. Wipe occasionally with a clean damp cloth
Cleaning: Dust before cleaning. Wipe with a clean, soft cloth dampened with water and a heavily diluted mild soap solution. Dry in shade away from direct heat.
Avoid hard rubbing or scrubbing
DO NOT use dish washing or laundry detergents or shampoo
DO NOT use solvents
DO NOT wet excessively
DO NOT remove cushion covers for separate cleaning
DO NOT clean using a hot-water extraction machine

Leather Care
Regular Care: Vacuum regularly with the soft brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and grit. then wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water
For Spots & Spills: Wipe off excess liquid immediately with a clean cloth or sponge.
For Overall Cleaning: use a leather cleaner every 3-4 months, followed by an application of leather conditioner ALWAYS FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE PACKS
DO NOT Expose leather to direct sunlight, intensive heat/weather or soak unnecessarily. Always avoid excessive hard rubbing
DO NOT Dry Clean or Machine Wash
DO NOT use saddle soap, detergents, solvents, abrasives, unidentified leather cleaners, suede cleaners or products containing silicon or solvents
Note: The salts and body oils which occur naturally in human skin can damage the surface of the leather if left uncleaned for lengthy periods. In warm or humid weather it is important that leather be wiped over weekly, particularly if the leather has become damp with perspiration or deposits of body oils are visible on areas such as head rests.
GENERAL HANDLING – Our furniture is not designed to be dragged along the floor at any time, it should only be lifted and moved with care. HEAVY ITEMS such as Tables & Case Goods should never be dragged – Minimum 2 Person Lift at all times.
Delivery & Pick Up
Free In-Store (FIS) Delivery is available within the Inner Melbourne Metropolitan Area, including to Third Party Carriers. A minimum total order value of $500 + GST may be required for free delivery in some instances.
Deliveries are made to your nominated business address, warehouse or to your nominated Third Party Carrier within the Inner Melbourne Metropolitan Area.
We are unable to deliver directly to your customer or provide drop shipping services at this time.
Orders can be collected directly from our Melbourne Warehouse during our warehouse opening hours. Pick-ups must be booked in advance to ensure your order is prepared and ready on arrival.
A sales confirmation or invoice must be provided when collecting goods.
Guarantee
Diamond Creek Furniture guarantees its timber products to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.
Should any item be found to be faulty within that 12 month period, the consumer is required to return the item to the place of purchase with the tax invoice and sales receipt. The item will be repaired or replaced free of charge at the company’s discretion.
This guarantee will not apply to accidental or intentional damage, neglect, misuse or exposure to extreme conditions, commercial or institutional use unless otherwise specified. The customer and/or consumer is responsible for fabric care. Fabric must be inspected for imperfections at point of sale. No responsibility will be taken for the condition of fabric after this point in time.
